Baby's First Shots
Wednesday, Adalynn had her first shots. Yea, she was not enthused.
Once we were in the doctor's office, we had to strip her down to get her weight, height and head circumference - all of which she wasn't too fond of because we were just pulling and stretching her all over the place. Then the shots. Ohhh the shots.
I'll start by saying that I absolutely love our doctor and nurses. They are so sweet and kind, you can tell they love what they do. For the shots, they brought in two nurses and did all of the shots at the same time. It took about ten seconds and then I could immediately pick her up to console her. Those ten seconds were about the saddest thing I've ever seen, her face turned bright red and she just started bawling.
It's so sad to see her scared and in pain and not be able to take those feelings away! But I guess that's what we signed up for as parents. Sometimes she will be scared and sometimes she will be in pain, but all we can do is be by her side to console and comfort her.
She proceeded to sleep away the entire day. I had to wake her to feed her, but other than that she was a happy baby. The next day seemed pretty normal also, but it was a little harder to feed her - she didn't seem as hungry as normal. Then last night...ohhh last night. It was like she was a newborn all over again. Up every two hours crying and eating. Not fun.
I was planning on heading to the barn for a meeting today about our upcoming fundraiser, but decided to stay home and see if we can't get this little one to start feeling herself again.
It's suppose to be in the mid-50s, so hopefully a nice long walk with the dogs in the fresh air with some sun on her face will do her good!
