Sweet Nothings

This weekend was fabulous in that we had nothing to do- a big, sweet, fabulous nothing. See, I’m normally a homebody. I have no problem being at home all weekend with nothing more than a good book, my dogs and a couple projects.  So our weekend consisted of a bonfire with friends, afternoon naps, fishing, cleaning out a room upstairs and just plain lounging.

Here some pictures, if you’d like to see…

Sunday morning dawned cool and misty after a night of rain. We woke up before sunrise and packed the car to go fishing at his grandparent’s lake cabin. I was lacking caffeine and, consequently, didn't think to get a picture of the cabin, but parking is on the road and then you walk down a set of wooden stairs to this adorable, tin-roofed log cabin with an old stone chimney up the side.

We hopped in the paddle boat with our poles, worms and towels.  Honey grew up fishing with his grandpa, so it was nice to be able to listen to him reminisce the sweet stories as we paddled around and casted our lines.

He showed me all of his different lures and a pretty fillet knife that was his great-grandfathers. Unfortunately, we were unable to use that fillet knife- you have to catch fish big enough for that.

We did get stuck in a little rainstorm, but it just made it all the more fun.

No keepers, but I did win the award for the smallest fish. I think it was approximately two inches...don't judge.

Hope you all had a restful weekend as well!

And PS.
Boys can't start fires without gasoline. And apparently a fire line. :)

    1. In that case, let's be happy that our houses are still standing! :)
